Police charge man after armed robbery at Lismore

A man will face court today charged with an alleged attempted armed robbery in Lismore overnight.

About 9.50pm yesterday (Thursday 3 October 2019), a 50-year-old man was walking home along Uralba Street, Lismore when he was approached by a 28-year-old man and threatened with a weapon.

The younger man demanded cash before leaving the scene empty handed.

Officers from Richmond Police District attended and conducted patrols of the area.

Police located the 28-year-old before he fled from officers; a foot pursuit was initiated and he was arrested nearby.

He was taken to Lismore Police Station and charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon. He was refused bail to face Lismore Local Court today (Friday 4 October 2019).
