Police charge man after attempted aggravated burglary in Richmond

Yarra Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a 32-year-old man following an alleged attempted aggravated burglary in Richmond last month.

It is alleged a man climbed onto a balcony before attempting to force entry to a property on Burnley Street about 6.30am on 27 March.

The man failed to gain access and jumped down before tumbling into a garden bed.

It is believed he fled the scene with two other people.

Thanks to media assistance, a man was arrested in Melbourne's CBD this afternoon.

A Melbourne man has been charged with attempted aggravated burglary and attempted burglary.

He was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 27 August.
