A man will face court today after allegedly damaging multiple cars in a Sydney carpark this morning.
About 3.50am (Monday 16 February 2026), police were called to a hotel carpark on Pyrmont Street, Pyrmont, following reports of a man damaging cars.
Officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command attended and were told a man allegedly armed with a traffic cone, damaged the carpark boom gate before proceeding to damage 35 vehicles.
The vehicles were unoccupied and there are no reports of injuries.
A crime scene was established and investigations commenced.
A 42-year-old man was arrested shortly after following a foot pursuit nearby.
He was taken to Day Street Police Station where he was charged with 37 counts of destroy or damage property.
The man was refused bail to appear before Downing Centre Local Court today (Monday 16 Febraury 2026).
Police will allege in court the estimated value of the damages is approximately $100,000.
