Police Charge Man After Fatal Crash - Hebersham

A man has been charged following an investigation into a fatal crash in Sydney's west last year.

About 12.25am on Sunday 20 July 2025, emergency services were called to Carlisle Avenue, Hebersham, following reports of a crash.

Officers attached to Mount Druitt Police Area Command attended and found a vehicle had crashed into a tree.

The driver, a 28-year-old man, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and later taken to hospital in a critical condition.

The passenger, a 35-year-old man, was also treated by paramedics; however, he died at the scene.

A crime scene was established and an investigation commenced by the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit.

Following extensive inquiries, the driver has been charged with:

  • Aggravated dangerous driving occasioning death – speed greater than 45 over limit
  • Dangerous driving occasioning death – drive under influence
  • Dangerous driving occasioning death – drive manner dangerous
  • Dangerous driving occasioning death – drive speed dangerous
  • Negligent driving (occasioning death)

The man was issued with a Court Attendance Notice to appear at Mount Druitt Local Court on Monday 15 June 2026.
