Police Charge Man After Fatal Stabbing In Sydney's West

A man has been charged following the death of a woman after she was located with stab wounds in Sydney's west yesterday.

About 5.05pm (Sunday 3 August 2025), emergency services were called to a unit on Hemphill Avenue, Mount Pritchard, following reports a woman was located with stab wounds to her chest.

NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived and treated the 62-year-old woman; however, she died at the scene.

Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command attended and arrested a 28-year-old man – known to the woman – at the scene.

He was taken to Fairfield Police Station.

A crime scene was established and Fairfield City detectives – with assistance from State Crime Command's Homicide Squad – commenced Strike Force Cummins to investigate the death.

Following inquiries, the man was charged with murder DV.

He was refused bail to appear before Fairfield Local Court today (Monday 4 August 2025).
