Police charge man after filming sexual acts without consent - Surry Hills

A man will appear in court today after allegedly filming women in sexual acts without their consent in Sydney.

Just after 6pm yesterday (Monday 17 February 2020), officers from Surry Hills Police Area Command were called to a brothel in Surry Hills, after reports a 23-year-old woman had been filmed without her consent.

Police arrived and spoke with the woman before arresting a 49-year-old man at the scene.

He was taken to Surry Hills Police Station and charged with 38 counts of film person without consent.

Police will allege in court a large number of videos were located on the man's phone of women filmed without their knowledge or consent in different adult entertainment venues.

The man was refused bail to appear before Central Local Court today (Tuesday 18 February 2020).
