Police Charge Man After Hit And Run In North Albury

A man will face Court after being charged following an alleged hit and run crash at North Albury last month.

About 10.30pm on Thursday 6 November 2025, police were called to the intersection of Endeavour Place and Solander Street, North Albury following reports of a hit and run.

The 53-year-old male pedestrian suffered serious injuries to his leg and was taken to Albury Base hospital. The car allegedly left the scene.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

Strike Force Courseulles, comprising detectives from Murray River Police District was established to investigate the incident.

Following inquiries by detectives, on Wednesday 17 Decemeber 2025, a 24-year-old man was arrested in Victoria on unrelated matters. NSW Police applied to have the man extradited to New South Wales.

Earlier yesterday (Thursday 18 December 2025), extradition was granted, and the man was taken to Albury Police Station.

The man was charged with five offences - cause grievous bodily harm to person with intent, fail to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing grievous bodily harm, drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous, fail to stop and assist after impact - cause injury and drive while licence suspended - 2nd+offence.

The man was refused bail, to appear before Bail Division - Court 5 today (Friday 19 December 2025).
