Police charge man after investigations into drug importation, supply - SF Castlestead

An eighth man has been charged following investigations into alleged large-scale drug supply in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie regions.

Strike Force Castlestead was established in September 2018 to investigate and dismantle an alleged drug supply syndicate operating across both police districts.

Following inquiries, a 31-year-old man was arrested today (Wednesday 29 May 2019), at a home in Tarrawanna, near Wollongong.

He was taken to Wollongong Police Station where he was charged with three counts of supply indictable quantity of prohibited drug; and supply trafficable quantity of prohibited drug.

The Tarrawanna man was given conditional bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court on 20 June 2019.

To date, eight people have been charged by Strike Force Castlestead detectives. They remain before the courts.

Inquiries by strike force detectives are continuing and further arrests are anticipated.
