Police charge man after making harassing calls to mosque

A man will appear in court next week after being charged by police for allegedly making harassing phone calls to a mosque in western Sydney

Police will allege the man made a number of phone calls to a mosque in Parramatta and harassed staff, between Monday 9 October 2023 and Thursday 12 October 2023.

Detectives from the Parramatta Police Area Command commenced an investigation into the matter.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 57-year-old man at a home in Glenwood, around 5pm on Wednesday 18 October 2023.

He was taken to Blacktown Police Station and charged with six counts of use carriage service to menace/harass/offend.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear before Blacktown Local Court on Thursday 26 October 2023.
