Police charge man after Moroopna armed robbery

Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad have charged a man following an alleged armed robbery at a licensed premises on a golf course in Mooroopna.

It will be alleged a man armed with a large kitchen knife, entered the Fairway Drive premises about 10.50pm on Thursday 6 January.

Once inside, the man allegedly confronted members of staff and made demands for cash before leaving the scene with a quantity of money.

No staff members were physically injured during the incident.

Police executed a search warrant at a Shepparton address today where a 28-year-old Shepparton man was arrested without incident.

He has since been charged with armed robbery is expected to be remanded to face Shepparton Magistrates' Court on 17 January.

A 22-year-old Shepparton man was also arrested and later released pending further enquiries.
