Police charge man after North-West suburbs incidents

Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad have charged a man following the arrest of two men early yesterday after a series of incidents across Melbourne's north-west.

The 27-year-old man was charged overnight with two counts of burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, possess cartridge ammunition and with possessing a commercial quantity of a drug of dependence, namely 1-4 Butanol.

The Cobram man will appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court this morning.

The charges follow alleged burglaries in the early hours of yesterday morning at supermarkets in Sunbury and Westmeadows, the ramming of a police divisional van and an incident where police were allegedly shot at.

The other man arrested remains in hospital under police guard and the investigation remains ongoing.
