Police charge man after police pursuit, crash at Dubbo

A man has been charged following a pursuit in the state's Orana region at the weekend.

About 1.45am on Saturday (10 October 2020), officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District attempted to stop a Ford Falcon sedan travelling west on Minore Road, Dubbo.

When it allegedly failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated.

Police lost sight of the vehicle near Rosedale Road and the pursuit was terminated.

A short time later, police located the vehicle crashed on Minore Road, however, the driver had left the scene.

A crime scene was established and police commenced and investigation.

Following inquiries, police located the driver, a 30-year-old man, at a home on North Street, Dubbo, about 10.20am the same day.

He was treated for minor injuries by paramedics and later taken to Dubbo Police Station where he was arrested and charged with police pursuit-not stop- drive at speed and goods suspected stolen in premises.

The man was refused bail and appeared at Dubbo Local Court yesterday (Sunday 11 October 2020), where he was formally refused bail to reappear before the same court today (Monday 12 October 2020).
