Police Charge Man After Pursuit At Blacktown 28 April

A man has been charged after an alleged pursuit in the Western Sydney area overnight.

About 12.40am today (Tuesday 28 April 2026), officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command were patrolling the Blacktown area, when they allegedly observed a station wagon conduct an illegal U-turn on Third Avenue and Prince Street.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle, however the driver allegedly failed to stop as directed and a pursuit was initiated.

A short time later, the vehicle crashed into a power pole on Sunnyholt Road.

The driver and a passenger – both 21-year-old men – were arrested on scene.

Both men were assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Blacktown Hospital for precautionary reasons and for mandatory testing.

Both later released from hospital, the alleged driver was taken to Blacktown Police Station, where he was charged with police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously and drive motor vehicle during disqualification period.

He was refused bail to appear before Blacktown Local Court today (Tuesday 28 April 2026).

The passenger was released pending further inquiries.
