Police Charge Man After Pursuit At Coffs Harbour 19 November

A man will face court charged following an alleged pursuit at Coffs Harbour earlier today.

About 8.45am (Wednesday 19 November 2025), police attempted to stop a vehicle on McLean Street, Coffs Harbour.

The Porsche SUV had allegedly been reported stolen last week from a home in Ascot, Queensland.

When the driver allegedly failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated.

The pursuit continued along Azalea Avenue and King Street where police lost sight of the vehicle.

Officers located the vehicle on Caltowie Place a short time later and pursued the vehicle to West Side Close where the driver exited the vehicle.

A 30-year-old Mid North Coast man was arrested on West High Street, Coffs Harbour, following a brief foot pursuit.

During a search of the man, police allegedly located and seized a can of pepper spray, while a search of the vehicle allegedly revealed several number plates and sets of keys.

He was taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station where he underwent a drug test which allegedly returned a positive reading for methylamphetamine. He underwent a secondary oral fluid sample that was sent away for further analysis.

He was subsequently charged with eight offences,

  • Receive etc property stolen outside NSW >$15000
  • Receive etc property stolen outside NSW <=$2000
  • Licence expired within the last 2 years
  • Use class A vehicle with unauthorised number plate affixed
  • Police pursuit - not stop - drive recklessly
  • Possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, and
  • Two counts of goods suspected stolen in/on premises (not m/v).

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 1 tomorrow (Thursday 20 November 2025).
