Police Charge Man After Pursuit, Crash - Mount Druitt

A man will face court charged following an alleged pursuit and crash in Sydney's west today.

About 11.25am today (Thursday 23 October 2025), officers attached to Mount Druitt Police Area Command attempted to stop a Ford hatchback on Daniels Road, Bidwill.

When the driver allegedly failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated.

The pursuit continued through to Railway Street, Rooty Hill, where the vehicle crashed into a power pole, igniting the vehicle on fire.

Fire and Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze.

The driver – a 41-year-old man – was arrested and taken to Mount Druitt Police Station.

The man was treated at the station by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to hospital for further assessment.

Following inquiries, about 8.15pm today (Thursday 23 October 2025), the man was discharged from hospital and taken to Mount Druitt Police Station where he was charged with:

- Police pursuit - not stop - drive recklessly

- Drive motor vehicle during disqualification period

- Drive recklessly or furiously or speed or manner dangerous

- Use class A vehicle displaying misleading etc number plate

- Use uninsured motor vehicle on road

- Owner use vehicle on road or road related area motor vehicle tax unpaid

- Use unregistered registrable Class A motor vehicle on road

- Goods in personal custody suspected being stolen (not motor vehicle) and,

- Drive not in Safety-T-Cam or average speed zone on or over solid edge line.

He was refused bail to appear at Mount Druitt Local Court tomorrow (Friday 24 October 2025).
