Police Charge Man After Pursuit In Sydney's North West

A man will face court charged after a pursuit in Sydney's north west last night.

About 9pm yesterday (Thursday 2 October 2025), police attached to North West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad Penrith stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Parkes and Wigram Street, Parramatta.

Police will allege after the vehicle stopped, it reversed into a police vehicle before conducting a U-turn and driving away.

A pursuit was initiated, however was terminated a short time later due to safety concerns.

About 9.30pm, the sedan was sighted on Parramatta Road, Five Dock, before continuing through Pendle Hill, Toongabbie, Seven Hills, and Blacktown.

About 10pm, the vehicle allegedly entered a carpark at a shopping centre in Parramatta, before the driver and a passenger allegedly fled the scene on foot.

Officers established a perimeter and arrested the 19-year-old driver.

Following the arrest police searched the vehicle locating a number of items which have been seized for forensic examination.

The 19-year-old was taken to Parramatta Police Station where he was charged with drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously, and use etc offensive weapon in company to prevent detention.

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Friday 3 October 2025).
