Police Charge Man After Robbery At Fairfield

A man will face court today following a robbery in Fairfield on Friday.

Just before 11.45am on Friday 12 June 2026, emergency services were called to Ware Street, Fairfield, following reports a 77-year-old woman had allegedly been assaulted by a man before he took her bag – containing a sum of cash – and left the scene.

On arrival, police were told the woman had withdrawn the cash from an ATM immediately before the incident.

She was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for head and leg injuries, before she was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.

Officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following inquiries, about 6pm yesterday, (Saturday 13 June 2026), police attended a home in Cabramatta Road East, Cabramatta, where a 36-year-old man was arrested.

He was taken to Fairfield Police Station where he was charged with aggravated robbery.

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 6 today, Sunday 14 June 2026.
