Police have charged a man following a series of incidents across the Werribee area today.
It's alleged an offender entered a garage on Wyndham Street in Werribee just before 11am where a man was sitting in his running vehicle.
The offender allegedly pulled him from the driver's seat and stole the car which was later found abandoned on Vincent Street.
Around 12.30pm its alleged the offender approached a woman who was placing her baby in the car on Shaws Road and attempted to steal her car but was unsuccessful and ran off on foot.
The offender then allegedly attempted to carjack a man sitting in his car on Shaws Road about midday, but the owner refused to get out, so the offender fled on foot into a nearby reserve.
No one involved was physically injured.
The 33-year-old Tarneit man was located inside a property he is alleged to have broken into on Market Road around 4pm and taken into custody.
He has been charged with numerous offences including carjacking, theft of motor vehicle, attempted theft of motor vehicle, attempted aggravated burglary, burglary, criminal damage, theft and possess prohibited weapon.
He has been remanded to appear at Wyndham Magistrates' Court tomorrow.
