Police Charge Man After St Kilda Road Rage

Port Phillip Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an alleged road rage incident in St Kilda last week.

Investigators will allege a white 2014 Holden Barina sedan was allegedly seen driving erratically along Dandenong Road on Wednesday 21 May about 1pm.

A white 2013 Mitsubishi Triton DC ute pulled up alongside the Holden near the intersection of Dandenong and Landsdowne roads, when an object was allegedly thrown at the victim's vehicle.

Both vehicles continued along Dandenong Road and stopped at the intersection with Hotham Street.

The two male drivers exited their vehicles and allegedly engaged in a physical altercation.

Police responded but both parties had fled upon their arrival.

The victim, a 62-year-old Myers Flat man, later presented himself to hospital with serious facial injuries.

He has since been released from hospital.

A 37-year-old Clarinda man was arrested by detectives yesterday morning at an address on Beryl Court in Clarinda.

He was charged with recklessly cause injury, possess prohibited weapon and fail to comply with a court order.

He was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 28 July.
