Police Charge Man After Stabbing At Port Macquarie

A man has been charged over an alleged stabbing in Port Macquarie last week.

About 1.25am on Friday 2 January 2026, emergency services responded to reports of a stabbing at a service station on Gordon Street, Port Macquarie.

Officers attached to Mid North Coast Police District attended along with NSW Ambulance paramedics who treated a 30-year-old man suffering a stab wound.

He was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition and has since been airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital for further treatment.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the incident commenced under Strike Force Lonerock.

About 6.30pm that day, officers executed a search warrant at a unit on Gordon Street, Port Macquarie.

A 27-year-old man was arrested at the unit and taken to Port Macquarie Police Station where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 1 on Saturday 3 January 2026, where he was granted strict conditional bail to appear before Port Macquarie Local Court on Wednesday 11 March 2026.

Inquiries into the incident are continuing.
