Police charge man after stabbing at railway station at Parramatta

A man will face court today after being charged following the stabbing of a man in Parramatta earlier this week.

About 1pm on Wednesday (17 February 2021), emergency services were called to Parramatta railway station where they found a 41-year-old man suffering multiple stab wounds to his abdomen.

He was taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition, where he underwent surgery.

Following inquiries, officers from Parramatta Police Area Command arrested a man at a unit in Gibbons Street, Auburn, at about 8pm yesterday (Thursday 18 February 2021).

The 23-year-old man was taken to Auburn Police Station and charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The man was refused bail and will appear at Burwood Local Court today (Friday 19 February 2021).
