Police charge man after stabbing man and assaulting woman - Maroubra

A man has been charged after he allegedly stabbed a man and assaulted a woman in Maroubra on the weekend.

Police will allege the 36-year-old stabbed a 26-year-old man before assaulting a 46-year-old woman at a unit on Anzac Parade about 4.15pm on Sunday 13 September 2020.

The trio are known to each other.

The man suffered a stab wound to the chest and was taken in a serious but stable condition to St Vincent's Hospital.

The woman suffered a head injury and bruising and was taken to St Vincent's Hospital in a stable condition.

The pair have since been released from hospital.

Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following inquiries, they arrested the 36-year-old man on Sturdee Parade, Dee Why, about 12:55am today (Tuesday 15 September 2020).

He was taken to Manly Police Station, where he was charged with armed with intent to commit indictable offence, wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, wound person intend to cause grievous bodily harm (DV), and larceny.

The man was refused bail and today (Tuesday 15 September 2020) appeared in Manly Local Court, where he was formally refused bail to appear in Waverley Local Court on Tuesday 29 September 2020.
