Police charge man after taxi driver threatened with knife in Melton

A 22-year-old man has been charged after a taxi driver was threatened with a knife in Melton yesterday morning.

It is alleged the man got into the taxi on Church Street, armed with a knife, and threatened the driver.

Police arrested him a short time later and seized a knife.

The Melton man has been charged with kidnapping and attempted armed robbery.

He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court today.
