Police charge man after threatening police - Lithgow Police Station

A man has faced court charged after allegedly threatening police at Lithgow Police Station this week.

About 10.40pm on Monday (8 February 2021), a man entered the foyer of Lithgow Police Station, carrying a large axe and with a knife tucked into his clothing.

The man confronted police, allegedly threatening officers.

Following negotiations, he was tasered and arrested before being taken to Lithgow Hospital for assessment.

Upon being discharged yesterday (Tuesday 9 February 2021), the man was taken to Lithgow Police Station and charged with armed with intent commit indictable offence, four counts of Intimidate police officer in execution of duty with out actual bodily harm, and custody of knife in public place.

He appeared at Lithgow Local Court yesterday and has been formally refused bail to appear at the same court tomorrow (Thursday 11 February 2021).
