Police charge man after two men robbed at gunpoint - Glebe

A man has been charged following an investigation into a robbery where two men were allegedly robbed at gunpoint in Glebe over the weekend.

About 1.15am (Sunday 4 April 2021), officers from the Leichhardt Police Area Command attended Elger Street after two men, aged 32 and 35, were allegedly robbed of their watches, jewellery and credit cards.

Police have been told the men were walking home when they were confronted by an armed man with his face covered, who demanded their possessions.

They complied and the man left the scene.

An investigation commenced and yesterday, (Tuesday 7 April 2021), police executed a search warrant at a unit in Cowper Street, Glebe.

A 19-year-old man was later arrested at Surry Hills Police Station and was charged with robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon.

He was refused bail and will appear in Central Local Court today (Thursday 8 April 2021).
