A man will face court charged with traffic and drug-related offences following a vehicle stop near Dubbo at the weekend.
About 11.50pm, on Saturday 9 August 2025, police attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District stopped a ute towing a trailer on the Newell Highway, Brocklehurst, about 7km north of Dubbo, after checks revealed the trailer was unregistered.
After speaking with the driver police commenced a search where they located and seized, heroin, and two bags of white crystalised substance – believed to be methylamphetamine.
The driver – a 40-year-old man – was arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station.
He was charged with drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, use unregistered trailer on road, two counts of possess prohibited drug, and supply prohibited drug.
The man was refused bail and appeared at Parramatta Local Court yesterday (Sunday 10 August 2025), where he was given conditional bail to appear at Wellington Local Court on Tuesday 19 August 2025.
