Police charge man for breaking into cinema complex at Albury

A man has been charged following an investigation into an alleged break and enter at a commercial premises in Albury.

Shortly after 4am on Friday 5 July 2019 a man allegedly used an ashtray to smash through the front door of a cinema complex before stealing a number of items.

The man then exited the rear of the premises and allegedly smashed the front passenger window of a utility vehicle parked in the rear carpark.

Police attended the scene and seized a number of items for forensic examination.

Following an investigation by Albury police, the man was arrested shortly after 10am yesterday (Wednesday 10 July 2019) and charged with one count of break, enter and steal, and two counts of destroy or damage property.

He was bail refused and is due to appear before Albury Local Court today (Thursday 11 July 2019).
