Police charge man for property offences at Dubbo

A man has been charged with property offences in the state's Orana Region after police allegedly witnessed him acting suspiciously near a parked vehicle.

About 10.15pm Saturday (17 August 2019), officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District were patrolling Jubilee Street at Dubbo following an increased number of property-related offences.

Police stopped and spoke to the man, aged 51, after allegedly witnessing him act suspiciously near an unattended vehicle.

Observations lead to reasonable cause to search the man, during which police seized a screwdriver, torch and a wallet believed to be the proceeds of crime.

The man was arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station where he was charged with posses implements to enter/ drive conveyance, goods in custody, possess prohibited drug, commit indictable offence having previous been convicted of the same.

He was bail refused to appear at Dubbo Local Court today (Monday 19 August 2019).
