Police Charge Man Over Arson Attack - Campsie PAC

A man has been charged after an alleged arson attack on a home in Sydney's south west.

About 5.30pm on Saturday 16 May 2026, emergency services responded to reports of a house fire in The Boulevarde, Lakemba.

Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the fire however; the home was extensively damaged.

Officers from Campsie Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following extensive inquiries, about 9.15am today (Sunday 30 June 2026), detectives arrested a 30-year-old man on The Boulevard, in Wiley Park.

He was taken to Campsie Police Station where he was charged with damage property by Fire more than $15,000 - Domestic Violence, enter enclosed lands and resist officer in the execution of their duty.

The man was refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court tomorrow (Wednesday 1 July 2026)
