Police charge man over disappearance of Ju Zhang

Police from the Missing Persons Squad have tonight charged a man as part of their investigation into the disappearance of Epping woman Ju 'Kelly' Zhang.

A 35-year-old Doncaster man has been charged with one count of murder and will face Melbourne Magistrates' Court tomorrow.

The man was arrested by police at Melbourne Airport about 6.15pm last night.

Today detectives from the Missing Persons Squad along with police from the Search and Rescue Squad conducted a search of the Darebin Creek Reserve in Ivanhoe West as part of the investigation.

Ju was last seen at her home on Winchester Avenue about 5.30pm on Monday, 1 February.

At the time the 33-year-old went missing, she was believed to be wearing a pink nightgown and possibly pink slippers.

The investigation into the matter remains ongoing.
