Police charge man over firearms supply at Albury

A man has been charged with firearms charges following an investigation in the state's south.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District established Strike Force Geegullalong in August last year, to investigate the alleged supply of prohibited drugs and firearms in the Albury area.

Following extensive inquires, strike force investigators arrested a 29-year-old man at Albury Police Station, about 11am Wednesday (8 March 2023).

He was charged with three counts of supply pistol without dealer/police witness – serious indictable offence.

He appeared in Albury Local Court yesterday (Thursday 9 March 2023), where he was granted conditional bail to reappear in the same court on Tuesday 9 May 2023.

Police will allege in court that the man supplied several gas-powered pistols late last year.
