Police charge man over fraud in Sydney City PAC

A man has been charged over defrauding his Sydney workplace of over $250,000.

Between the 7 and 16 October 2019, a 29-year-old man was working as a manager for a licenced premise on Crown Street, near Cleveland Street, Surry Hills, when he allegedly made hundreds of unauthorised bets.

Detectives from Sydney City Police Area Command commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

About 9am today (Wednesday 6 November 2019), the man was arrested at Day Street Police Station.

He was subsequently charged with dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception.

The Pyrmont man was granted conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 27 November 2019.
