Police charge man over murder of woman in 2018 - Prospect

A man will face court today, charged with the murder of a woman who disappeared from Sydney's west in 2018.

In December 2018, officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command established Strike Force Admarality to investigate the disappearance of 71-year-old Nadire Sensoy from her home in Prospect.

As part of inquiries, strike force detectives made a public for information as well as announced a reward for information in 2020.

On Monday 13 March 2023, a coronial inquest into the woman's death began; however, was suspended soon after due to new information coming to light.

Following subsequent further inquiries, today, police arrested a 47-year-old man at Wagga Wagga Police Station.

He was charged with murder (DV) and refused bail to appear before Wagga Wagga Local Court today (Tuesday 21 March 2023).

Police will allege in court that the man murdered the 71-year-old woman, who was known to him, between Thursday 6 December 2018 and Tuesday 11 December 2018 in the Blacktown area.

Investigations under Strike Force Admarality are ongoing.
