Police charge man over robbery, break and enters - Eastern Suburbs

A man has been charged with armed robbery and break and enter offences after a number of alleged incidents in Sydney's east.

About 2.30am on Sunday 19 July 2020, a 22-year-old man allegedly threatened a rideshare driver with a machete on Military Road, Dover Heights, before taking his phone and wallet.

The 26-year-old driver reported the incident to officers from Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command, who commenced an investigation into the incident.

Police will allege, at about 3am, the same man broke into a home on Military Road, Vaucluse, stealing an Ipad, mobile phone and portable speaker.

About 3.30am, the man attended a home at Wallis Parade, North Bondi, and allegedly climbed through a window before threatening the occupants of the home.

About 6.45pm yesterday (Monday 20 July 2020), the man was arrested at Maroubra Police Station, where he was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon, aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-people there and, aggravated break and enter with intent - knowing person there.

He was refused bail to appear before Waverly Local Court today (Tuesday 21 July 2020).
