Police Charge Man Over Sexual Touching - Glebe

A man has been charged over an alleged sexual touching at a shop in Sydney's Inner West.

About 9.30pm on Thursday (23 April 2026), officers attached to Leichhardt Police Area Command commenced an investigation following reports of an alleged sexual touching in Glebe.

Police were told about 9pm the same day, a 51-year-old woman was at a shop on Glebe Point Road, Glebe, when she was inappropriately touched by a man who worked at the store.

Following inquiries, about 1.30pm yesterday (Friday 24 April 2026), police arrested a 71-year-old man in Glebe area.

He was taken to Newtown Police Station where he was charged with sexually touch another person without consent.

The man was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 7 today (Saturday 25 April 2026).
