Police charge man over stabbing at Parkes

Police have charged a man after he allegedly stabbed another man in state's Central West last night.

About 8.40pm (Tuesday 25 August 2020), emergency services were called to a home on Forbes Road, Parkes, following reports of a stabbing.

A 23-year-old man was found with a stab wound to his stomach.

He was treated at the scene before being airlifted to Westmead Hospital where he is reported to be in a critical but stable condition.

Officers from Central West Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.

A 22-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Parkes Police Station, where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The Parkes man was refused bail to appear at Orange Local Court today (Wednesday 26 August 2020).

The men are known to each other.
