Police charge man over stabbing at Parramatta

A man will appear in court today charged over an alleged stabbing in Sydney's west overnight.

About 7.20pm (Saturday 26 September 2020), emergency services were called to a unit in Noller Parade, Parramatta, following reports a man had been injured.

Officers from Parramatta Police Area Command attended and found a 42-year-old man, suffering a stab wound to his abdomen.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being transported to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Following inquiries, police attended a second unit in the complex and arrested a 52-year-old man. Parramatta

He was taken to Granville Station and charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Police will allege in court that the men, who are known to each other, were involved in an altercation about a dog before the older man produced a knife, stabbing the younger man.

The man was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Bail Court today (Sunday 27 September 2020).
