Police charge man over stabbing - North Albury

A man has been charged over an alleged stabbing of another man in the state's south.

Emergency services were called to a home on Bank Street, North Albury, about 5.50pm yesterday (Thursday 19 January 2023), where they found a 19-year-old man suffering stab wounds to his chest.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Albury Base Hospital for surgery.

Officers from Murray River Police District attended and established a crime scene.

Investigators seized a knife at the property, which will undergo forensic examination.

Following extensive inquiries, investigators arrested a 24-year-old man at Albury Base Hospital about 2pm today (Friday 20 January 2023).

He was taken to Albury Police Station, where he was charged with wound with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (DV).

The Albury man was refused bail to appear at Wagga Wagga Local Court tomorrow (Saturday 21 January 2023).
