A man is due to face court over an alleged stabbing on a bus in Sydney's Inner West in October this year.
Just before 1am on Thursday 23 October 2025, emergency services were called to Addison Road, Marrickville, following reports of a stabbing.
On arrival, officers attached to Inner West Police Area Command were told a passenger – 51-year-old man –had been stabbed in the arm and hand by another man, who exited the bus near Enmore Road, Marrickville, and left the scene.
The two men are not believed to be known to each other.
He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.
Following inquiries, about 12.15pm on the same day, police arrested a 54-year-old man on Illawarra Road, Marrickville, before they seized a small knife from him.
He was taken to Concord Hospital for an assessment under police guard.
About 12pm yesterday (Wednesday 3 December 2025), the man was taken to Newtown Police Station after being released from the hospital.
He was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 6 today (Thursday 4 December 2025).
