Police Charge Man Over Suspicious Fire At Dubbo

A man will face court over a suspicious fire in the state's west last month.

Just after 1am on Sunday 24 August 2025, emergency services were called to a licensed premises in Erskine Street, Dubbo, following reports of a fire.

Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District attended the scene, alongside Fire and Rescue NSW crews, who extinguished the blaze.

There were no reports of injuries.

A crime scene was established, and police commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following further inquiries, about 9.30am today (Monday 8 September 2025), police arrested a 32-year-old man at a correctional facility on Goolma Road, Wellington.

The man was charged with two counts of damage property by fire/explosion.

He is due to appear at Bail Division Court 4 today (Monday 8 September 2025).
