Police charge man over western Sydney brothel hold-up

Police have charged a man following an alleged armed robbery and sexual assault at a brothel at Blacktown in western Sydney, NSW police said.

About 5.40am Monday, a male entered the establishment on Carnegie Place near the intersection Bessemer Street.

After a conversation with a female staff member, the man allegedly threatened her with a knife before sexually assaulting her. He then allegedly indecently assaulted another female staff member.

The man then allegedly became aggressive towards a male staff member before assaulting him and stealing a quantity of cash.

The man was last seen running from the driveway of premises.

One of the female staff members was conveyed to Blacktown Hospital by a work colleague and treated for a cut to the temple.

Officers from Blacktown Local Area Command were called and attended.

A crime scene was established and examined by specialist forensic officers.

A short time later, a 24-year-old man attended the location where he was arrested and taken to Blacktown Police Station.

The man was charged with armed robbery armed with an offensive weapon, aggravated sexual assault, he was refused bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court today.
