Police charge man over wounding, East Brisbane

Police have charged a 58-year-old man following an alleged unlawful wounding incident that occurred on November 27.

Around 1.50am, two men, known to each other, became involved in a verbal altercation in a unit at Vulture Street, before it is alleged one stabbed the other with a spear.

A man came to the aid of the victim and they both managed to disarm the offender who sustained injuries in the struggle.

Emergency services attended and transported a 47-year-old man to hospital for treatment to a non-life-threatening wound to his upper chest.

A 58-year-old man from East Brisbane has been charged with attempted murder and burglary with circumstances of aggravation (night and used actual violence).

Bail has been refused and the man will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow December 6.
