Police charge man with attempted murder at Auburn 6 April

A man will face court today charged with attempted murder after an incident in Sydney's south-west yesterday.

About 1.30am (Monday 5 April 2021), emergency services were called to Happ Street, Auburn, following reports a man had been seriously injured.

Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command attended and found a 44-year-old man inside a car with wounds to his stomach.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the injured man at the scene, before he was taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition.

Officers established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

About 2.50pm officers arrested a 54-year-old man at a premise in Alice Street, Auburn.

He was taken to Auburn Police Station where he was charged with cause wounding/GBH to person with intent to murder.

The Auburn man was refused bail and is due to appear in Burwood Local Court today (Tuesday 6 April 2021).
