Police charge man with drug supply - South East RES

A man has been charged after drugs and cash were seized following a vehicle stop in Wollongong yesterday.

Officers attached to South East Region Enforcement Squad (RES) were patrolling the Wollongong area as part of Operation Consequence, when they followed a Mitsubishi ASX into the carpark of a hotel on Cliff Road about 12.30am (Monday 5 April 2021).

Police spoke to the driver, a 28-year-old man, and during a subsequent search, officers allegedly located methylamphetamine and more than $10,000 cash in the man's possession along with cocaine in the vehicle.

He was arrested and taken to Wollongong Police Station where he was charged with supply prohibited drug – indictable quantity, possess prohibited drug, and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen.

The Leumeah man appeared at Wollongong Local Court yesterday (Monday 5 April 2021), where he was formally granted conditional bail to appear at the same court on Tuesday 13 April 2021.
