A man has been charged with firearm offences after police allegedly seized a number of firearms during a search of a home in the state's south.

About 9.50am today (Wednesday 7 May 2025), officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District attended a home in Berrembed Street, Grong Grong, for a Firearms Prohibition Order compliance check.

Police searched the home, allegedly seizing five replica firearms and drugs.

A 58-year-old man was arrested and taken to Narrandera Police Station.

He was charged two counts of possess unauthorised prohibited firearm, two counts of acquire pistol-subject to firearms prohibition order, two counts possess unregistered firearm-pistol, acquire ammunition subject to prohibition order and an outstanding traffic warrant.

He was refused bail to appear in Wagga Wagga Local Court today (Wednesday 7 May 2025).
