Police charge man with firearm offences - Miller

A man has been charged after police seized an unauthorised firearm during a vehicle stop in Sydney's south-west.

About 9.15am today (Tuesday 23 May 2023), officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command located a black BMW sedan parked on Cartwright Avenue, Miller. The vehicle and sole occupant were searched, police located a .32 calibre semi-automatic Beretta pistol and Methylamphetamine.

A 31-year-old man was taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with seven offences including possess unauthorised pistol, use, supply acquire or possess defaced firearm, possess loaded firearm in a public place, possess unregistered firearm – pistol, not keep firearm safely – pistol, acquire pistol subject to a firearms prohibition order and possess prohibited drug.

The man was refused bail to appear before Liverpool Local Court today (Tuesday 23 May 2023).
