Police charge man with mid-range PCA after pursuit - Pymble

A man has been charged with drink-driving following a pursuit on Sydney's North Shore overnight.

Just before 2am (Friday 16 October 2020) officers from North Shore Police Area Command attempted to stop a Toyota Camry on the Pacific Highway, Killara, after it was seen travelling on the incorrect side of the road.

The Toyota failed to stop, and a pursuit was initiated, travelling through local streets before the Toyota lost control on the Pacific Highway, Pymble and crashed into a guard rail.

The driver, a 19-year-old man, was subjected to a roadside breath test, returning a positivise result.

He was arrested before being taken to Chatswood Police Station, where he allegedly returned a breath analysis reading of 0.135.

The man was issued a Court Attendance Notice for drive with mid-range PCA and police pursuit – not stop – drive recklessly.

He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear before Hornsby Local Court on Thursday 26 November 2020.
