Police charge man with murder after woman found deceased - Bulga Forest

A man has been charged with murder after a woman was found dead in Bulga Forest on the state's Mid North Coast at the weekend.

About 11.30am on Saturday 18 September 2021, emergency services responded to reports of a woman being located deceased in a cabin on Pole Dump Forest Road, Bulga Forest.

Officers from Manning/Great Lakes Police District secured a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the 34-year-old woman.

As a result of those inquiries, a 38-year-old man, who was known to the woman, was arrested by detectives at a home on Killawarra Street, Wingham about 5pm yesterday (Tuesday 21 September 2021).

He was taken to Taree Police Station where he was charged with murder.

He was refused bail and will appear in Taree Local Court today (Wednesday 22 September 2021).
