A man has been charged with murder after the body of an older man was found at Glenmore Park yesterday.
About 12.50am (Thursday 16 July 2026), emergency services were called to a home on Wargon Crescent, Glenmore Park, following reports of a fire.
Officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command attended the scene and located the body of a man in front of a partially alight property.
The man, believed to be aged 64, is yet to be formally identified.
Fire and Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the fire.
A crime scene was established, and detectives have commenced an investigation under Strike Force Dorinu into the circumstances of the incident.
Following inquiries, a 36-year-old man was arrested after he was found inside a car on Parkes Avenue, Werrington, about 6.45am yesterday (Thursday 16 July 2026).
The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for minor injuries before he was taken to Nepean Hospital under police guard.
After being released from hospital, the man was taken to Penrith Police Station where he was murder (DV).
The man was refused bail to appeal before Penrith Local Court later today (Friday 17 July 2026).
Police will allege in Court the two men were known to each other.
