Police charge pair over prison contraband, South Australia

Two people were arrested last night after allegedly introducing contraband to a correctional facility.

SAPOL's Police Corrections detectives and the Department for Correctional Services conducted a joint investigation into the unlawful introduction of contraband into a Northfield correctional facility.

On Thursday 6 February, police arrested a 51-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman, both of Brahma Lodge and charged them with introduce contraband to a correctional facility. The man was further charged with driving while disqualified and breach of bail.

He was refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today, Friday 7 February.

The woman was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 19 March.
